Denise Davidson

Executive Director

Denise has empowered people from all walks of life and has an extraordinary commitment to serving others. She is a well-respected leader and a dynamic advocate for her Beloit Community in which she was born and raised.

Denise is passionate about helping those whose voices are often not represented. She has demonstrated this by dedicating over 28 years of service at the State Public Defender’s Office where she was an advocate for a fair criminal justice system for youth and adults. She has held several roles in the SPD’s office with the most recent being the Regional Office Administrator.

Her service extends far beyond her community. Denise is a Veteran of the United States Army having served in Operation Desert Storm. She truly believes in the slogan “Leave No Veteran Behind.” This is evidenced by her dedicated commitment to the Rock County Veterans Treatment Court (a court that gives second chances to veterans, established in 2009) in which she was a founding staff member and where she currently serves as the Mentor Coordinator.

Denise is passionate about giving everyone choices and resources to reach their goals and dreams. She demonstrates this by serving on several non-profit boards and committees including Rock Valley Community Programs (RVCP) Board of Directors as President and The Micah Project as Assistant Director/Treasurer and volunteering at church and several local outreach programs.

“For there is Always Light, If only we’re Brave Enough to See it, If only we are Brave Enough to Be it.  - Amanda Gorman -

Denise is that “Light” for the community and The Rising Tide Center.

Carl Boyd

Director of Athletics/Operations

Carl came to The Rising Tide Center with a wealth of experience. A graduate of Beloit Memorial, Carl played collegiate basketball at Cal-Berkeley. He then spent 1999-2009 playing professional basketball, traveling to Germany, France, Austria, Amsterdam, Norway, China, Japan, South Korea and the Dominican Republic.

Featured in 2014’s edition of Beloit Legends Magazine, Carl has continuously demonstrated his passion for athletics and youth, both in the community and the school district. He coached Intermediate basketball for two years, and high school basketball for four. Dating back to 1997-1998, he participated in the Michael Jordan Camp in CA, the Los Angeles Lakers Camp in 1999 and hosted his own Elite Fitness Youth Basketball Camp in 2017.

Carl’s passion extends far past athletics alone. He has been involved with Project 1649 for over ten years, which is a local nonprofit organization serving Rock County’s unaccompanied homeless teens. Carl has been a voice for those in need and has shown an abundance of selflessness in all walks of life. He has used his experience to provide a safe haven for troubled youth by coaching and mentoring them. He is passionate about children and our community having choices and resources to have a better quality of life. Carl consistently works on new and innovative ways to provide support and encouragement to those in need.

He has three children of his own, Cam’ron, Camiya and Laila, who each give him even more motivation to make this world a better place.

Kara Peach

Volleyball Director (Rising Tide Valkyries)

Originally from Rockford, Kara began playing volleyball at a young age, continuing through high school and club, and instilling in her a lifelong love for the sport. After high school, she continued to play both indoor adult leagues and summer beach leagues until starting a family.

After relocating to Beloit in 2012, Kara was inspired by the city's growth and felt a strong calling to return to volleyball in some form. Her detail-oriented nature and desire to make an impact led her to the Rising Tide. She began coaching recreational volleyball and quickly recognized how needed such a program was in the community. When she saw Rising Tide launch their club program, the Valkyries, she couldn’t help but be a part of it. Club volleyball were some of her most important memories of team, friendship and character building from her youth. She felt deeply aligned with Rising Tide’s determination to provide those same opportunities to all kids in the community, regardless of means.

Her passion for the sport, meticulous attention to detail, and dedication to providing young athletes with the same positive experiences that she had through volleyball make her the perfect fit to lead our volleyball program. Together, Kara and Rising Tide are committed to building a robust and thriving volleyball program that will nurture the talents of young athletes of all levels, and foster a love for the sport for years to come.

Manuel "Manny" Leon

Soccer Director (Rising Tide FC)

Manuel “Manny” Leon began playing soccer from when he could walk and has been around the sport his entire life. This passion led to him getting involved in coaching from a young age.

Manuel first came to Rising Tide through his job at Sherwin Williams, where he assisted with all of the murals that you see painted throughout the building. Having coached in various area leagues, Manuel volunteered in the spring of 2024 to help coach recreational soccer, before assisting with the launch of the Rising Tide FC club program in the fall.

Soccer is both the most popular and most underserved sport in Beloit, and with that comes great responsibility. The trust formed through Manuel’s involvement and belief in the Rising Tide Center project from the very beginning, combined with his passion for the sport, make him the perfect fit to lead our soccer program. Together, Manuel and Rising Tide are committed to building a comprehensive soccer program of rec leagues, club teams, camps, and tournaments that serve the entire community.
